The Merc with a Mouth will return to the MCU next year, and he’ll be joined by many familiar faces from the franchise. Ryan Reynolds is set to reprise his role as Wade Wilson in Deadpool 3, the third installment of the mutant’s story and the first one as a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine along with him.

But Logan isn’t the only character from the 20th Century Studios' X-Men universe that will be accompanying Reynolds in this new adventure. Once again, Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapidic, Karan Soni, and Leslie Uggams will also be playing Vanessa, Colossus, Dopinder and Blind Al, respectively, as they did in the first and second movie.

Now Deadline reports that Deadpool 2’s fan favorite character is set to return too. Peter, played by comedian Rob Delaney will be part of the third movie too. Deadline also reports that Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna will also be back to play Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio. While Hildebrand's character was introduced in the first movie, her girlfriend made her appearance in the second installment along with Josh Brolin's Cable and Julian Dennison's Rusty Collins.

Besides the returning names, the movie has also recruited some interesting new faces. The Crown star Emma Corrin and Succession's Matthew Macfadyen are set to join the franchise in unknown roles, although Corrin is rumored to play the villain.

Rumors about the upcoming project have related some other big names within the MCU such as Owen Wilson, and even Tom Hiddleston. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen have also teased a potential participation on the movie, which would totally make sense now that the multiverse is established and the X-Men universe is coming to Marvel Studios.

Deadpool 3 will be the first R-Rated MCU movie, and will definitely mark a new beginning for Marvel Studios and Disney in terms of targeting new audiences and telling different stories with more violence, sexuality, and mature characters.

The movie is helmed by Free Guy and The Adam Project’s Shawn Levy, with a script from Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the first two installments. Deadpool 3 will hit theaters in September 2024.

That’s probably what every single fan is wondering. The character of Deadpool has a very different unique tone, not only in the comics, but also in his movies. Reynolds' version of the character is irreverent, foul-mouthed, and extremely violent, very far from the heroes we met in the Disney franchise. But that’s not the biggest challenge.

The real question is how Wade Wilson’s story will fit into Marvel Studios’ canon. And now seems the perfect time to bring the character. Why? Because of the concept of the multiverse and the existence of different time-lines and realities. Although no plot details have been revealed about the movie, we do have some information shared by the main stars.

Reynolds and Jackman revealed that the version of Wolverine that will appear in the movie is not the one the Australian played before. In fact, different iterations of the character might be featured in the film. And with the confirmation of Morena Baccarin's return, fans can get some idea of what road the movie is taking.

After teaming-up with Cable, Wade might have access to his friend’s time-traveling device, which he could use to save his girlfriend. This could create new realities and have Deadpool messing with the multiverse, and having the TVA going after him, which would tie perfectly with Owen Wilson having a cameo in the movie.
