Rob Schneider is set to star in the indie children's fantasy, Juliana and the Medicine Fish.

Jeremy Torrie has written the screenplay based on the book by Jake MacDonald; Torrie is also directing and producing, while Macdonald helped co-write. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Schneider will play a father who is trying to save his troubled fishing lodge as well as his relationship with his 12-year-old daughter, who uncovers an ancient secret in the waters near the lodge.

Production on Juliana and the Medicine Fish will begin this week in Lake of the Woods, Manitoba, Canada.
