Production is chugging along on The Munsters movie, an all-new movie based on the classic sitcom from director Rob Zombie. Ahead of filming, Zombie had been documenting the construction of the set, which had been built entirely from scratch using blueprints modeled after the house used as 1313 Mockingbird Lane in the TV series. He also revealed the movie's main cast members, uniting Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily, Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman, and Dan Roebuck as Grandpa.

Rob Zombie has also been providing some small sneak peeks at the set with filming now underway. A new image shows Zombie posing with the Mockingbird Lane sign, with the filmmaker writing in the caption, "Greetings from Mockingbird Lane." Not only did Zombie have the Munster house built from the ground up, the crew went ahead and built all of Mockingbird Lane, showing the level of devotion the filmmaker is putting into this project.

Sheri Moon Zombie has also been hard at work in character as Lily Munster. On Facebook, the actress posted another new image from the set of her chair alongside those for Richard Brake and Dan Roebuck. Brake was just recently announced to play a mad scientist in the movie following prior rumors that he was somehow involved in the cast. Additional cast members have yet to be officially revealed, although there are a handful of names rumored.

In a recent interview with Horror Geek Life, Dan Roebuck spoke about working with Sheri Moon Zombie. He described her as the hardest-working person he knows, noting their multiple collaborations. Roebuck also praises Sheri for her performance as Lily and feels people are going to be satisfied with what they see when the movie is released.

"Everything fell the way it should have, and Jeff (Daniel Phillips) is perfectly cast and he will be so entertaining in the part of Herman. Sheri (Moon Zombie) is so delightful as well... There’s not a better person in Hollywood, or anywhere else on the planet, who should be making The Munsters movie other than Rob Zombie. It’s gone through the hands of so many other people and I know Rob wasn’t just looking for something to attach his coattails to. He’s a huge fan of it and being a life-long fan approaching this material it really is as good as it gets. I know Sheri, and nobody works harder than Sheri Zombie. I’ve written a part for her in a movie I wrote and directed, as well as another film I co-wrote and co-directed, so that’s what I think of her talent. I think she’s terrific and I absolutely love working with her."

A few other names rumored to appear in The Munsters including Lost star Jorge Garcia, Doctor Who star Sylvester McCoy, and Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson. None of them have been officially confirmed by Rob Zombie at this time. It's also very much like the filmmaker to include special appearances from rather random celebrities in previous movies, so you never know who else might show up in The Munsters reboot. Perhaps there will be a role for original Munsters actor Butch Patrick, a good friend of Rob's.

The Munsters doesn't yet have an official release date, but the movie will reportedly have a day-and-date release by debuting in theaters and on Peacock.
