The latest sneek peek at The Munsters by Rob Zombie has two of its lead stars celebrating Valentine's Day. On Feb. 14, Zombie took to social media to post the new photo of Herman Munster (Jeff Daniel Phillips) and Lily (Sheri Moon Zombie). The Munsters gaze at one another as Zombie notes in the caption, "Happy Valentines Day from a couple of cool ghouls." You can see the post below.

In the comments, Phillips writes, "This will warm the coldest hearts!"

Jeff Daniel Phillips and Sheri Moon Zombie are two of the main cast members of The Munsters alongside Dan Roebuck as Grandpa Munster. As of now, Zombie has not even confirmed whether or not Marilyn and Eddie will appear in the reboot, so it's not clear if they will and, if so, who will be playing them. Zombie has, however, provided a plethora of other casting announcements for fans, revealing several of the other kooky characters we will meet in The Munsters.

The other confirmed cast members include Doctor Who legend Sylvester McCoy, who will be featured as Igor, the "loyal servant" to the Munster family; frequent Zombie collaborator Richard Brake as the mad scientist Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang; former Bond girl and On Her Majesty's Secret Service star Catherine Schell as a Zoya, a gypsy queen; and Lost favorite Jorge Garcia as Floop, Dr. Wolfgang's assistant and Herman's best buddy.

Rob Zombie has noted that there's still more to come with the casting announcements for The Munsters. For nearly a year, Zombie has slowly been confirming many of the names which had been rumored as a part of the cast, with all of the aforementioned names listed in the early reports of the project. The nature of their roles hadn't been revealed unti Zombie officially confirmed each actor's involvement with new set photos.

The only name mentioned in the first reports still yet to be confirmed is horror legend Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson. Regardless of the role, horror fans will love to see Peterson in the film, and her rumored casting is certainly a big plus. Even so, there's nothing that's been made official at this time. If and when Peterson is announced, the rest of the cast will also be a complete mystery, including the potential inclusion of Marilyn and Eddie with new actors.

This new movie will reimagine the monster family originally introduced in the 1960s TV show. Zombie has long been open about being a huge fan of The Munsters and this movie is a dream project for the filmmaker. He has gone through great lengths to stay faithful to the franchise, though we can presume he'll bring something unique to the table as well with his own touch on the story.

The Munsters doesn't have an official premiere date but it's rumored to be given a day-and-date release, premiering both on Peacock and in movie theaters. Let's hope it arrives by the end of the year with production well underway.
