Almost from the moment it was announced that there was going to be an Iron Man 2, fans have wondered if the film was going to follow the "Demon in a Bottle" storyline from the Iron Man comics - after all, Tony Stark's drinking features heavily into the first movie. Robert Downey Jr., the star of the films, recently told MTV that isn't going to be the case.
When asked if the film was based on the arc, Downey said "Not really." The actor continued "As a matter of fact, I think that's probably best saved because it's such its own storyline."
So, what will the storyline for Iron Man 2 be then? "We're going for the interim space [between the origin and "Demon"]," explained Downey, "which is more a look behind the mask of someone who says he's Iron Man and what it really is to become a superhero."
Meanwhile, Jon Favreau continues to update us on the production via his Twitter page, with filming beginning Monday, March 6.
On March 5, Favreau wrote:
@jon_favreauGoing over script with RDJ one last time before shooting.
Then on March 6, the day that shooting begins, Favreau wrote:
@jon_favreauOn my way to set. Not much sleep, as one could imagine. First day at camp. Very excited.
The director even posted a picture to show us that he was on-set. To get a look at the image CLICK HERE
