Robert Englund: During an interview with Sideshow Weta about his upcoming action figure hitting store shevles soon, actor Robert Englund who has portrayed manical killer 'Freddy Krueger' for the last 20 years, talked about some of the upcoming projects he's involved in and rumors of more "Freddy" films coming in the future...

SC: Everyone certainly identifies you with your role of Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street films. Will there be another movie with this character in your future?

RE: There are rumors of Freddy and Jason versus Ash of the Evil Dead series. There are also rumors out of New line that there have been meetings with the owners of the Michael Myers franchise. Freddy Versus John Carpenter? Freddy Versus Bruce Campbell? With the success of Freddy Versus Jason I think it is a safe bet that there will be some new Freddy project. Personally, I would like to see a prequel and play Freddy out of make-up, before he was burned.

SC: You have some 2004 projects that are currently in production such as 2001 Maniacs and "V." Can you tell us more about those?

RE: I finished filming 2001 MANIACS in Georgia with a great young cast. I got home just in time for Thanksgiving. Great crew, including director Tim Sullivan (Detroit Rock City), producer Eli Roth (Cabin Fever) and yours truly as Mayor Buckman, combination Colonel Sanders from Hell, Dukes of Hazzard and Orson Wells in The Long Hot Summer.

We haven't started shooting "V" yet but I am looking forward to reuniting with much of the original cast to film four more hours of "V". Ken Johnson is working on the script right now which will pick up 20 years after the mini-series ended and not pursue any of the plot lines that were developed on the TV series.
