A popular toy has been powered up for the big screen. According to Hollywood Reporter, Robosapien: Rebooted has commenced principal photography in New Orleans. Bobby Coleman is playing the lead character of a boy who takes in and befriends a robot on the lam from dastardly corporate interests.

The cast is also rounded out by Penelope Ann Miller, David Eigenberg, Holliston Coleman, Joaquim de Almeida and Kim Coates. Sean McNamara (Bratz) is directing from a script by producer Avi Arad and Max Botkin, who conceived the original story.

The film is based off the Wow Wee company's Robosapien remote-controlled robot. No release date has been set.
