In just under two months, LucasFilm and Disney will release the first ever Star Wars spin-off with the highly-anticipated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This adventure will be set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, introducing a new group of characters such as Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) while bringing back iconic characters like Darth Vader. According to one of the spin-off's new stars, this movie will be the most realistic in the franchise's history.

We have gotten a few hints that Rogue One would be much different than the original Star Wars movies, with LucasFilm president Kathleen Kennedy revealing that this movie won't have an opening crawl like the first seven Star Wars movies. Diego Luna, who plays Captain Cassian Andor, teased in a new interview, translated by Star Wars News Net, that Rogue One will be the most realistic Star Wars movie. Here's what he had to say below.

"I wanted to make my character more natural and realistic. Although people expect the tone of the film to be fantasy, it actually is quite the contrary. It's an intimate story that feels real. I think of all the Star Wars films released so far, Rogue One is the most real one, which is about the people. The characters are very similar to us. They are heroes with no powers. What they have is a conviction and desire to change reality."

Rogue One will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that are familiar to the Star Wars universe. It goes into new territory, exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining that essential Star Wars feel that fans have come to know. The story centers on Felicity Jones' Jyn Eros, who leads a group trying to steal plans of the initial Death Star. Diego Luna also teased that he suffered a number of injuries during production, some of which will actually be seen in the film.

"I took a lot of injuries. My chest still hurts a lot. There are some accidents that will actually end up in the final cut of the film. In a scene where we were running against a strong wind a badly hurt my cornea while trying to remove some debris from my eye. I used a patch during the last days of filming."

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens in U.S. theaters on December 16, 2016, going up against Warner Bros.' Collateral Beauty, starring Will Smith.
