Last week, Empire Magazine revealed two new covers for their upcoming print issue featuring characters from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The first cover showed Jyn Erso and her team of Rebels, while the second offered a closer look at the main villain, Ben Mendelsohn's Director Orson Krennic. The publication promised a new subscribers' cover debuting on Monday, and, true to their word, that image has been revealed, featuring none other than the new droid, K-2SO.

K-2SO was actually featured on the first Empire magazine cover, seen towering over Jyn Erso and the rest of her Rebel team, but this image gives us a much closer look at this "military enforcer droid," which is voiced and performed in motion capture by Alan Tudyk. This subscribers cover is designed as a "technical drawing" for K-2SO, and at the bottom it says this is a "Classified Document" of the Imperial Army. If that wasn't enough, Empire also released a new photo with K-2S0 in action alongside Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor (Diego Luna).

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves. The group of Rebels trying to steal the Death Star plans is lead by Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), along with Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Baze Malbus (Wiang Jen) and Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen).

The cast also incudes Mads Mikkelsen as Jyn's father, Galen, Ben Mendelsohn as the villainous Director Orson Krennic and Forest Whitaker as Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Saw Gerrera. It was also recently confirmed that Jimmy Smits will reprise his prequel trilogy role as Bail Organa, although, unfortunately, no details have been revealed about how he fits into the story. LucasFilm will release Rogue One on December 16, where it will go up against New Line's Collateral Beauty starring Will Smith and Edward Norton.

Earlier today, LucasFilm announced promotional tie-ins for this highly-anticipated Star Wars spinoff, with well-known brands such as Duracell, General Mills, Gillette, Nissan and Verizon teaming up for an extensive promotional campaign, leading into the new movie's release. Duracell will kick off this promotional campaign, but it isn't known when exactly this may launch. It's possible these ads may be timed to coincide with the new Force Friday event, which will take place on September 30, but we'll keep you posted with more updates as soon as they're available. In the meantime, take a look at the new Empire cover featuring Rogue One's K-2SO below.
