Anticipation for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is reaching a fever pitch, and should boil over with the arrival of Force Friday this September, which will finally see all of the merchandise for this first spin-off in stores. Last week, Empire showed off three new magazine covers that featured the heroes, villains and new droids in this standalone adventure. Today, we have 7 more images from the upcoming issue, which give us a better look at this motley crew of rogues and scoundrels.

The first new photo features Felicity Jones as main protagonist Jyn Erso. She is wearing a costume we haven't seen before, standing in front of a blistering sunset. The uniform recalls the Rebel fatigues worn on the forest moon of Endor, and she is drenched in rain. She has what appears to be an Imperial Stormtrooper blaster, and at some point needed a gas mask. The image describes Jyn as a thief and a forger. She's also a rebel and a hero.

The second image has Jyn teaming up with Diego Luna as Cassian Andor. And he appears to be wearing Han Solo's winter jacket from the frozen ice planet of Hoth. The image claims that Andor is supposed to be a steadying influence for the hot headed and unpredictable Jyn. You'll notice he's carrying a large backback. But the pair aren't traipsing through snowy terrain. They are seen here on the sacred Jedi Holy Planet of Jedha. As you can see by their wardrobe, this planet must get pretty chilly in the evening.

The third image shows new bad guy Director Krennic, played by Ben Mendelsohn. In the movie, he will be at odds with Darth Vader, as he competes with the Sith Lord for Emperor Palpatine's affections. Krennic is known for his bold entrances, and is never seen without his flowing white cape. Here, he is seen flanked by the new Death Troopers, a squad that must have not proven to be too effective, as they are not seen again in the original trilogy.

The next three photos show off Jyn and Cassian's small band of Rebel soldiers, who help infiltrate the Empire and steal plans for the Death Star. The first image shows Jyn meeting the blind spiritual warrior monk Chirrut Imwe, played by Donnie Yen. They are seen on the planet of Jedha. Next up is Riz Ahmed as Rebel Alliance pilot Bodhi Rook. He is seen here showing off his high-powered binoculars. We also see that he is wearing an old Imperial Flight uniform. This image also gives us a look at a never-before-seen Rebel blaster rifle. The third image shows us Jiang Wen as Baze Malbus. He is a freelance 'rogue' assassin. While attending Star Wars Celebration this past July, Wen teased that the fate of all these characters doesn't look too promising. Perhaps that's why we never hear about them in A New Hope. Does that mean a Rogue One sequel is out of the question?

One final photo gives us a look at director Gareth Edwards on the Scarif set with Diego Luna and Felicity Jones. Though the team appears to be in good spirits, if you look closely in the background, you will see this sandy beach littered with the bodies of dead Stormtrooper soldiers. So far, two trailers have been released. It isn't known if a third will arrive before the movie hits theaters this December. While we wait, take a look at the seven new photos courtesy of Empire.
