There is still a lot of conversation surrounding Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but we are a mere six weeks away from a brand new Star Wars movie arriving in theaters. Disney is in full-blown public awareness mode for the first standalone Star Wars movie ever, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. That being the case, they are getting ready to unveil a bit of new footage on us.

Thanks to the ABC Twitter account, we now know that some new Rogue One footage is coming during their Disney Holiday Celebration. The special is set to be a "new holiday tradition" according to the tweet. But much more importantly, at the very end of the 20-second video included in the tweet, it is revealed that there will be an exclusive look at Rogue One: A Star Wars Story shown during the special.

Unfortunately for those who don't want to watch the entire special just to see some new Star Wars footage, the specific time that the footage will be shown wasn't declared. So fans may have to deal with watching performances from Kelly Clarkson and Garth Brooks in order to see what Rogue One: A Star Wars Story goodness will be revealed. It is also unclear if this will be a new trailer, a making of short or some kind of behind the scenes video like the one shown at Star Wars Celebration over the summer. Either way, there will be some new footage, maybe even some more Darth Vader.

Prequel is kind of a bad word for Star Wars fans, but Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a prequel movie that takes place in the time between the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope and tells the story of how the Rebels got their hands on the plans for the Empire's planet-destroying weapon, the Death Star. The band of Rebels tasked with stealing the plans is being led by Jyn Erso, who is being played by Felicity Jones. She is accompanied by a mixed bag of rag-tag Rebels who are trying to secure the plans so that the Rebel Alliance can destroy the Empire's new, deadly weapon.

The Rogue One: A Star Wars Story cast includes the previously mentioned Felicity Jones as well as Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Tudyk, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Wen Jiang and Forest Whitaker, who is playing Saw Gerrera from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The movie is directed by Godzilla helmer Gareth Edwards. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set for release on December 16. You can see the new footage during the Disney Holiday Celebration on Thursday, November 24 on ABC.
