While director Roland Emmerich's new film 2012 is set to hit theaters this weekend, the filmmaker revealed he plans to revisit his monstrous 4th of July film, possibly in two new movies. MTV Movies Blog recently spoke with Emmerich who revealed he wants to make two sequels to his 1996 blockbuster Independence Day.

"What we want to do in the next - it's actually two movies - we want to do a bigger arc," he explained. "Independence Day was always like the king who leads his troops into battle against an evil force, and that stays like that."

While there is no script for the projects as of yet, as it's still in the idea phase, Emmerich did suggest a title.

"'ID4-ever,' Part I and II maybe?"
