For more than 10 years, Norman Reedus has participated in one of the most popular television franchises, The Walking Dead. While the grizzled acting veteran is set to continue his run with his spinoff series, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, many fans have pondered where Reedus would fit if he were to join another major franchise.

Here, we will focus on the DC Universe (DCU) and all the different protagonists, antagonists, and antiheroes that Reedus could play. We'll provide insights into the character's histories and reference Reedus's past work to exemplify why he fits in the role.

10 Harvey Bullock

Warner Bros. Television

Commissioner James Gordon is often seen with his right-hand man Harvey Bullock. While Gordon is the paragon of justice and is willing to work with the Dark Knight, Bullock is no-nonsense and wants the Caped Crusader to mind his business and leave the work to the police of Gotham City.

Reedus has already proven to be a perfect foil when playing second to a strong leader. He's also known for playing characters who take no quarter from someone they don't respect. Keeping in line with his naturally sharp exterior and Reedus would be perfect for delivering the biting one-liners Bullock is known for.

9 Wildcat

Warner Bros. Animation

While it's easy to think of Norman Reedus as a marksman, it is also pertinent to remember that he is more than capable of holding his own in a brawl. No DC character better exemplifies the qualities of a fighter than Wildcat.

Ted Grant is a normal human being who has trained to become a master boxer. Showing off his fighting spirit, Wildcat has proven to be more than capable of holding his own, joining the ranks of the Justice Society of America as well as becoming a teacher for heroes such as Batman and Black Canary.

8 The Question

DC's The Question
DC Comics

Time for Norman Reedus to trade the suit he wears in The Boondock Saints (1999) for a long jacket and fedora as he becomes the faceless detective, The Question. The Question is an ode to classic crime noir detectives, searching through every file or trash can until he finds the needed evidence.

Question isn't afraid to get into a brawl should the need arise. With his face hidden from view due to a special mask, Vic Sage stands as the potent philosopher of the DCU, often questioning his own methods and whether murder may be a justifiable means to a positive end.

7 Deathstroke

Slade Wilson, the ultimate mercenary for hire, survived extremely dangerous experiments that helped increase his strength, speed, and reflexes. These experiments also gifted him restorative abilities, so he could heal from any injury he sustained after the experiments took place (resulting in his eye that he had already lost not regenerating).

Witnessing Norman Reedus don the signature armor that grizzled actors such as Joe Manganiello and Manu Bennett would make for a great scene, as well as seeing the actor, whose normally seen brawling, use expert martial arts techniques when he's not shooting one of many guns will make for a perfect action film.

6 Ares

DC Comics

We've already made numerous references to the experience level of Norman Reedus. No being in the DCU is more experienced with combat than the God of War, Ares. With the Wonder Woman source material canonizing that the Greek Gods are real deities, Ares is often a villain that tries to influence mortals into continuing their acts of war.

Having access to a multitude of weaponry, magic spells, and the endurance of a god, Norman Reedus would play the role excellently, proving capable of standing toe-to-toe with Wonder Woman and fighting Superman.

5 Godspeed

Warner Bros. Television

An interesting character to see Reedus play would be August Heart, the cop who would turn into an evil speedster after being gifted powers by a speed force lightning storm. Working to become as integral to the force as his friend, Barry Allen, August Heart is also motivated by the desire to arrest the person that killed his brother.

This would be a much different role than audiences are accustomed to seeing Reedus in; however, Reedus has been known to use speed and lethal force to tangle with heroes, given his time as Scud in Blade II (2002). Having a big name and recognizable face attached to the role will likely lead the team to provide more attention to the character than what happened to Kindall Charters' run as the character on The Flash.

4 Rip Hunter

Warner Bros. Television

Time travel in the DCU can get complicated. While most remember the catastrophe that came from the Flashpoint event (something fans will witness in The Flash (2023)), things could get far worse if not for the authority of Time Master Rip Hunter. The much more severe son of Booster Gold, Rip Hunter, would take the responsibility of time travel seriously, often acting as a supporting character whenever a significant story arc required the heroes to venture into a different time period.

Norman Reedus can excellently pull off the stern demeanor of Rip Hunter, and one would look forward to seeing the antics he would get up to were he to have to work with the past version of his father Booster Gold or perhaps working in a capacity similar to Arthur Darvill's portrayal of the character in DC's Legends of Tomorrow television series.

3 Hawk

Hawk Titans
Warner Bros. Television

Norman Reedus always displays excellent chemistry when working closely with a partner. Whether it be Daryl and Carol (Melissa McBride) on The Walking Dead or the McManus twins in The Boondock Saints, Norman Reedus has proven he's more than capable of being one-half of a stellar duo.

As Hawk, Reedus would be the aggressive partner of Dove (a character that has a history of being either male or female), the representative of peace. The duo have been known to work together to help solve crimes, with Dove often having to keep a cool head for both of them as Hawk's powers left unchecked could prove fatal.

2 Guy Gardner

Guy Gardner (1)
DC Comics

The most hot-headed of the Green Lantern Corps. and the second Earthling to be assigned to the corps., Guy Gardner often steps up to prove he never fears a fight. Guy was selected to be a backup if anything were to happen, Hal Jordan. Guy's barely-repressed rage would come to the forefront when he decided to go undercover as a Red Lantern. However, Guy's most infamous moment would come when he angered Batman to the point when the Dark Knight knocked him out in one punch.

Norman Reedus plays a hostile force of rage well and could work well in a buddy cop series alongside either Hal or the third Green Lantern, John Stewart. And seeing Reedus go for a good brawl when he has the most powerful weapon in the universe on his finger would be equally fitting.

1 Green Arrow

Warner Bros. Television Distribution

Okay, we may have started this list by straying away from the image of Norman Reedus wielding a ranged weapon, but how could you not think of Reedus donning the garb of Green Arrow and striking down foes with the signature bow and arrow?

Oliver Queen survived for years on an uncharted island, honing his skills and returning to society, changed from the wild playboy he once was. Queen would take control of his company and use his resources to become a vigilante for Star City, targeting white-collar crimes and acts of terrorism.
