Ron Howard knows his way around a good book. In the past few years he has directed theatrical adaptations of The Da Vinci Code, A Beautiful Mind, and Apollo 13. Now, according to Variety, he will be directing an adaptation of Claire Messud's 2006 novel The Emperor's Children.
The book revolves around Gotham's upper echelon of society. The central plot follows a couple of Ivy Leaguers trying to come to terms with their thirties. Universal is producing the film.
Howard is currently working on two other projects at the moment. The first, which is nearing the shooting stage, is Frost/Nixon. The other, a sequel to The Da Vinci Code called Angels and Demons, is currently being prepped.
It is not clear at this time if The Emperor's Children will be the next project Howard goes forth with.
