Costume specialist Rubie's Masquerade has acquired the rights to create costume items for The Dark Knight, according to their profile page at Licensing.biz. Additionally, they have extended their exclusive license for both the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises.

"The last 12 months have been very exciting for Rubie's regarding licensing," says advertising and promotions manager for Rubies, Holly Davies. "Rubie's licensed portfolio is second to none and is very important to the business. It makes up about 25 per cent of the total product range, but this is growing year-on-year as licensed costumes get more popular. We believe having licensed products opens doors for you, particularly the exclusive deals, which most of Rubie's are."

Rubie's current list of licenses includes Superman Returns, the Harry Potter series, Shrek, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, The Wizard of Oz and Friday The 13th, just to name a few.

Rubie's new catalog will arrive in Spring 2008, which will show the costume items from the new lines, as well as some surprise items. The catalog will be available on the company's website.
