Actor Russell Crowe has signed onto the martial arts movie The Man with the Iron Fist, which will mark the directorial debut of Wu Tang Clan's RZA.

E! Online got the news straight from the RZA himself at the MTV Video Music Awards over the weekend. Here's what RZA had to say about Russell Crowe's character:

"I won't spoil it for you, but Russell's gonna be the baddest man alive. That man is in fighting shape. That man will knock you out."

RZA will direct the movie from a script he co-wrote with Eli Roth, who is also producing the movie with Quentin Tarantino. Not much is known about the plot, other than it is a martial arts movie. We first reported on The Man with the Iron Fist back in 2008. RZA had previously worked with Russell Crowe in the 2007 movie American Gangster.

It was said that the movie would start shooting in December on location in Shanghai. Universal greenlit the project in May, which will be filmed with a $20 million budget.
