Hollywood News is reporting that Academy Award nominated actor Ryan Gosling has signed on to narrate Phillip Montgomery's ReGeneration, a new documentary that explores the widespread cynicism in today's youth and young adults, and the influences that perpetuate our culture's apathetic view towards social and political causes. Gosling is also producing along with Anonymous Content's Matt DeRoss and Engine 7 Films' Joel Goulder and Jeremy Goulder.

Montgomery said, "It is an honor to work with one of the most talented and intelligent artists of our generation. As a socially conscious individual himself, Ryan brings an inspired freshness to the films core message of hope and action. There is truly no better voice to guide us through this film."

Beyond the labels of "Generation X" and "Generation Y," the feature documentary film Regeneration takes an uncompromising look at the issues facing today's youth and young adults, and the influences that perpetuate our culture's apathetic approach to social and political causes. Focused on how today's education, parenting, and media can shape us, the film follows three separate walks of life representing today's generation. Each brings their own unique perspective - from an inspired collective of musicians working outside the corporate system, to a twenty-something conservative family about to welcome the birth of their second child, and a group of five high-school students from the suburbs looking for their place in society.

Their stories are interspersed with the knowledge, wisdom, and personal reflections of some of the country's leading scholars, social activists, and media personalities, including the late Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky, the musicians from STS9, and Talib Kweli, among others.

Gosling will next be seen alongside Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine which premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and will be released by The Weinstein Co. later this year. The film will premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the upcoming Festival de Cannes. Gosling is currently filming the untitled Dan Fogelman comedy for Warner Bros in which he stars opposite Steve Carell.
