20th Century Fox recently held a press junket for their upcoming true story drama Eddie the Eagle, which stars Taron Egerton as the infamous ski jumper and Hugh Jackman as the man who trained him for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. The studio is currently riding high on a wave of success from their new superhero adventure Deadpool, which resides within the X-Men universe that Hugh Jackman has been a part of since the beginning. Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds decided to crash this junket to interview Hugh Jackman, and the results are quite hilarious.

Of course, both actors shared the screen together in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where Ryan Reynolds played a much different version of the Merc With the Mouth in a movie where they literally sewed his mouth shut. This much-maligned prequel wasn't too well-received by fans and critics. While the movie isn't directly referenced in this interview, Ryan Reynolds asks Hugh Jackman if the studio ever considered sewing Eddie's mouth shut and have lasers come out of his eyes.

While many fans were hoping for a Hugh Jackman cameo in Deadpool, that never happened, but there are still plenty of references to the actor himself in the movie, including his title as People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive," which he won in 2008. This interview also features references to Ryan Reynolds' wife, Blake Lively, and a hilarious rendition of a 1980s classic that comes completely out of left field. Unfortunately, the actors don't discuss any possible future collaborations in this interview.

Hugh Jackman will start shooting Wolverine 3 this April, but there is very little we know about the story thus far. It's possible that Ryan Reynolds could make an appearance as Deadpool, since it's established that he is part of this movie universe, but we don't know what plans the studio may have for this beloved Merc, aside from Deadpool 2. 20th Century Fox is also developing X-Force, which Ryan Reynolds recently said is a "priority" for him, but the studio hasn't given the green light for production to start quite yet.

While we wait for more on both Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds' future superhero movie plans, take a look at this humorous video interview below, courtesy of Ryan Reynolds' YouTube page. We also have tweets from both actors, taking even more playful jabs at each other. Would you like to see Wolverine and the Merc With the Mouth clash once again on the big screen?
