Sacha Baron Cohen is looking for his next post-Bruno character, and 24 Frames is reporting that Torrente, a Hollywood take on Spain's favorite racist and corrupt cop, is one such option.

Based on the Spanish films created by and starring the Spanish comedian Santiago Segura, the popular comedy-action franchise centers on Jose Luis Torrente, an outrageous cop fired from the force who continues to patrol the neighborhood and enforce his brand of justice.

Seinfeld writers Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer and David Mandel are now writing the script.

Sacha Baron Cohen is currently attached to The Dictator, which will shoot early 2011, about a goat herder and dictator, directed by Larry Charles.
