Jurassic World Dominion debuted an action-packed official trailer recently, teasing the return of legacy characters from 1993’s Jurassic Park. Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum are reprising their roles as Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World Dominion. The third installment in the franchise, Jurassic World Dominion, has been termed the "epic conclusion of the Jurassic era."

Sam Neill, who was last seen in 2001’s Jurassic Park 3, makes his return in Dominion alongside new stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Neill talked about his experience reprising one of his most iconic roles. When asked how he felt returning to the franchise after all this time, Neill said:

"Well, we had a blast. I was pleased to do it for a number of reasons. First of all, to be with my old friends Laura and Jeff you know. We were — this was in the middle of the pandemic — we were locked up in a hotel together in somewhat idyllic rural England and everyone all got on really well. The new cast I liked very much; and the established Jurassic World cast, they’re just the nicest people. Bryce and Chris are absolute sweethearts. Because we were so beleaguered by COVID at this point, we felt we were on our own brave enterprise in a way, and that brought us closer together than ever. It was really an unforgettable time and I’m very grateful for it."

Jurassic World Dominion was barely into production when the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world in March 2020. After several delays, the film wrapped filming in November 2020, and the release date was moved back by a year. But being together during the lockdown only added to the cast’s chemistry, Neill believes. Director Colin Trevorrow has already screened Jurassic World Dominion for friends and fans, but Sam Neill revealed that he hasn’t seen the film yet. He also showered praise on Dominion’s ambitious story and teased tons of dinosaurs.

"I haven’t seen the finished film yet. I’m sure it’s a very ambitious, huge story, a lot of characters, a lot of dinosaurs. (Laughs) It’s going to be unquestionably big, so they’ve been holding it back until hopefully cinemas are fully open and all that. It’s something that needs to be seen on a very big screen."

Jurassic World Dominion will be the third film in the sequel trilogy and marks the end of an era. The film sees new and old characters teaming up to maintain balance in a world co-habited by dinosaurs. The stakes are higher than ever in Dominion. Colin Trevorrow returns to direct the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Emily Carmichael.

Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, BD Wong, and Omar Sy return in Dominion alongside newcomers Mamoudou Athie, Scott Haze, Campbell Scott, DeWanda Wise, Dichen Lachman, and Isabella Sermon. They will be sharing screen space with the legacy cast, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, who will play crucial roles in Dominion.

Jurassic World Dominion will be the culmination of not just the sequel trilogy but the entire Jurassic era, which began in 1993 from the brilliant minds of Steven Spielberg and Michael Crichton. However, producer Frank Marshall has assured that more stories with the prehistoric beasts are in the works. Hopefully, Dominion improves over its 2018 predecessor and delivers an epic conclusion as promised. Like Sam Neill says, be sure to check out the film on the biggest screen possible.

Jurassic World Dominion is slated to be released in theaters worldwide on June 10, 2022.
