Last month we ran a story from Chuck Palahniuk's own website that unveiled the fact that Sam Rockwell and Angelica Houston would be starring in an adaptation of his novel Choke. Well, The Hollywood Reporter has just confirmed that very same thing.

Choke will serve as the directorial debut for actor Clark Gregg. He also wrote the screenplay adaptation of the book. The story follows the adventures of a man who pretends to choke while dining in expensive restaurants so that he doesn't have to pay the bill. He is broke because he has to pay for his mother's extensive hospital stay.

Gregg stated, "It's a tricky adaptation because like a lot of Chuck's work, it operates in a heightened satirical, dark world, yet this one is one of his black romantic comedies, so getting the tone right took me some time."

Principal photography begins this week in New Jersey.
