It seems that one of this summer's cyborgs is an ideal candidate for a new remake. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sam Worthington has signed on to star in The Candidate.

Summit Entertainment has picked up the remake rights to the Kasper Barfoed's Danish thriller, and set screenwriter Beau Willimon to write the remake. The film centers on a defense attorney who is trying to track down a group of blackmailers when he ends up being wanted for a murder and the mystery ties in to the death of the lawyer's father.

The original film was released in Denmark last fall, but does not have an American distributor as of yet. No production schedule was released for the remake.
