In a move that seems to be almost commonplace among HD-DVD and Blu-ray manufacturers, Samsung has postponed the release of it's BD-P1000 Blu-ray disc player.

According to Home Media Retailing, Samsung Electronics is pushing the release date of it's $999 player from May 23rd to June 25th.

Samsung cites "compatibility testing with several Blu-Ray test discs" as the cause of the delay.

Acoording to the company, "the BD-P1000 would include two additional features, such as 1080p output via HDMI for Blu-Ray software titles that are digitally mastered in 1920 x 1080 resolution, and up to 1080p up-conversion of conventional DVDs through the HDMI digital interface."
