It has long been known that Samuel L. Jackson would be taking the role of Nick Fury in the upcoming Iron Man film, directed by Jon Favreau, and in fact it was rumored that the cross-over scene between Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk would involve Jackson. Speaking to MTV. Jackson confirmed his role. Sort of.
Avi Arad first let the news of Jackson's role slip back in July. When told this, Jackson played coy. "I asked Avi Arad about that and he said he didn't do that. He told me he didn't." Confronted with video evidence of Arad's quote, Jackson relented.
"Well [then] am indeed Nick Fury," Jackson finally admitted. "But I don't know if I'm gonna be in ["Iron Man"] though."
Beyond that, Jackson wouldn't confirm what scenes, if any, he had shot for any of the upcoming Marvel films.
Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges and Gwynth Paltrow flies into theatres on May 2, 2008. The Incredible Hulk, starring Edward Norton, William Hurt, Liv Tyler and Tim Roth arrives just a little over one month later, hitting the screen on June 13, 2008.
