Samuel L. Jackson has been an integral part of many of Quentin Tarantino’s movies, but he has no idea what the director is planning for his reportedly last movie or whether he will be part of it. Many would have believed it would be a given for Jackson to collaborate again In Tarantino’s 10th official movie having appeared in five of his previous movies including Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight, but it seems that even someone with as many connections as Jackson is as much in the dark about Tarantino’s upcoming project.
For a number of years, Tarantino has stood by the statement that he doesn’t want to be someone who continues to churn out movies that get worse and worse, and planned to make ten movies as director and then call it a day to retain his legacy. While discussing the possibility of being a part of the director’s swansong, Jackson told the LA Times that not only does he not know if he will be in the movie but he doesn’t even know what it is going to be. He said:
“I don’t know. He’ll tell me or he won’t tell me. I didn’t hear from him at all when he did the Hollywood movie. Usually, he’ll call me and say he’s doing something and ask how I feel about it. Like when he did the Nazi movie, he was like, "There’s nothing for you in this." "I can learn how to speak French." "No, I’m having a French guy." So I did the voice-over about celluloid and the movies.”
Quentin Tarantino Could Still Return To Kill Bill For His Final Movie
While Quentin Tarantino has not been renowned for churning out sequels to his movies, at least not as a director, there is a strong belief that he could possibly bow out by revisiting his Kill Bill movies for a third time. Having already put out the two part movie, there have been a number of rumors about Kill Bill: Vol 3 still being on the cards. Among those rumors is the suggestion that Uma Thurman’s daughter Maya Hawke could be sought for a role as the daughter of Thurman’s The Bride if the film did go ahead.
Hawke, who has previously worked with Tarantino on Once Upon A Time in Hollywood and is currently gaining a lot of attention as part of the Stranger Things cast, has said that the director “does what he damn well wants” and “if he ever wanted to work with me again, of course, I would love to.” When it comes to a third Kill Bill movie, Tarantino himself has also hinted that he would definitely love the idea of getting Thurman and Hawke together. He previously said:
"I think it's just revisiting the characters, 20 years later, just imagining the Bride and her daughter B.B. having 20 years of peace. And then that peace is shattered. The Bride and B.B. are on the run. The idea of being able to cast Uma and her [real-life] daughter Maya would be f-cking exciting."
