Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith: Actor Samuel L. Jackson recently talked to Now Playing Magazine about his character's fate as well as some upcoming reshoots planned for the final Star Wars film...

Jackson said he’s still not quite done shooting his scenes as Jedi Master Mace Windu.

“No, well, no,” he says when asked if George Lucas has completed filming the picture yet. “I just got a call last week. I’ve got to go back to London in January [for reshoots]. That’s what George does.”

Revenge of the Sith said to be the darkest of the Star Wars films, Jackson points out that not the happiest of fates awaits his character in the final film.

“Dying!” is his response when asked what Mace is up to in Sith. “Yeah, like all of the rest of the Jedi. I can’t tell you [the specifics], but yeah, it’s an awesome death.”

The actor doesn’t see it as a spoiler to talk about Mace’s untimely demise, though, since the original Star Wars films were pretty clear about the fate of the entire Jedi Order.

“Well, when number four starts there are only, what, four Jedi left,” he says. “There’s Luke, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Darth Vader, is it? Everybody else has been assassinated, killed, wiped out, something."

Jackson does take some solace in the fact that Lucas gave him a real setpiece to go out on, however, and besides, he got to take home a pretty cool keepsake from the whole affair as well.

“Yes, I did get to keep [my lightsaber],” he smiles. “Yes, I have it.”
