Samuel L. Jackson has recently revealed that he has asked The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett director Bryce Dallas Howard about returning as Mace Windu in the Star Wars universe. During a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the veteran actor did not hold back when discussing his desire to return as his Mace Windu character. “There's a huge history of people with one hand returning in Star Wars,” Jackson stated during the interview. You can check out Samuel L. Jackson's full statement about returning as Mace Windu below.

"Definitely [hold out hope for Mace Windu's return]. There's a huge history of people with one hand returning in Star Wars... The only person I've ever said that to, about coming back, was Bryce Dallas Howard, 'cause I just did a movie with her and she directs episodes of The Mandalorian. So, 'You think you might be able to hook a brother up? You like me, right?' And she's like, 'I love you! You're amazing!' So, 'Put me back in there. Put me in, coach, I'm ready!' I'll learn to lightsaber left-handed, come on, hook me up."

Mace Windu was last seen alive in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Jackson's character was just seconds away from killing Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) until Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) cut off his hand with Palpatine "finishing him off" with Force lightning. Bryce Dallas Howard, who has directed a total of 2 episodes of The Mandalorian and 1 episode The Book of Boba Fett, had also agreed with Samuel L. Jackson. She recently stated that he's "amazing" and gave the actor some hope that Mace Windu may get his chance to be revived in the near future.

Temuera Morrison, who recently starred as the infamous Boba Fett, appearing in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, has discussed his ultimate desire to seek revenge on Mace Windu for the death of Jango Fett during Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. "I owe him big time for my dad. He's done. He's done. I've got my eye on him. He's top of the list, in fact." If Lucasfilm decides to move forward with a second season of The Book of Boba Fett, a storyline featuring Boba Fett going head-to-head with Mace Windu would certainly be an interesting one.

With no official confirmation of Samuel L. Jackson set to return as Mace Windu in the Star Wars universe, fans are now hoping that director Bryce Dallas Howard can make this happen. Jackson's recent statement on the Happy Sad Confused podcast about his desire to return actually isn't the first time he expressed his interest in this particular topic. The first time he had mentioned it goes all the way back to 2015. Since Mace Windu's death technically took place off-screen, anything is possible when it comes to bringing back characters that are presumed dead. What are your thoughts if Samuel L. Jackson were to make a return to the Star Wars universe?
