Sandra Bullock has committed to star in the political comedy Our Brand Is Crisis for Warner Bros. and director David Gordon Green.

The actress has been circling the project since awards season, but she has been weighing other options as well. Variety reports that she was convinced to join the project after meeting with David Gordon Green, based on the strength of his vision.

Based on the 2006 documentary of the same name by Rachel Boynton, the plot centers on American political campaign tactics being used in South America. The documentary followed American strategists who helped elect the president of Bolivia, and the aftermath of the election that followed.

Peter Straughan wrote the screenplay, with Sandra Bullock also attached to produce alongside her Gravity co-star George Clooney and his producing partner Grant Heslov.

Sandra Bullock recently signed on to star in Tupperware Unsealed, playing Tupperware marketing executive Brownie Wise, who invented the "Tupperware Party" in the 1950s.
