The Innkeepers' Sara Paxton and Pat Healy have signed on to star in Cheap Thrills for director E.L. Katz.

The story centers on a new father who is facing foreclosure on his house, when he is reuninted with an old high school friend. They meet a wealthy couple who will help them out financially, if they endures a series of rigorous tests that will push their mental and physical capacities. No details were given on who Sara Paxton and Pat Healy will play, although they join a cast that already includes David Koechner, Ethan Embry, and Amanda Fuller.

E.L. Katz is making his directorial debut, after writing movies such as Autopsy and serving as a producer on The Aggression Scale and A Horrible Way to Die. He will direct from a screenplay by Trent Haaga and David Chirchirillo. Travis Stevens, Gabriel Cowan, and John Suits are producing. Shooting is scheduled to begin next week in Los Angeles.
