Sarah Brown is coming back to Port Charles.

ABC announced today that actress Sarah Brown will be returning to the daytime soap opera General Hospital. The actress previously portrayed Carly Benson on the show from 1996 to 2001, and picked up three Daytime Emmy's for her work. Brown's first show back will air on Thursday, January 31.

"I am pleased to welcome Sarah Brown back to ABC and 'General Hospital'," said Brian Frons, president, Daytime, Disney-ABC Television Group in making the announcement. "Fans will have the opportunity to see her incredible acting ability and chemistry with Maurice Benard when the pair go head to head again from day one."

"I am thrilled to be returning to my 'General Hospital' family, and especially looking forward to portraying a new character that will immediately create fireworks throughout the town of Port Charles and its many residents," adds Brown.

She will be portraying the new character Claudia Zacchara on the show and will again be working closely with Maurice Benard, who plays town mob boss Sonny Corinthos. Brown's Carly Benson character and Benard's Sonny Corinthos character were a married couple.
