Late night, talk show host Conan O'Brien staged a 1990s Saturday Night Live reunion on his hit show Conan with Adam Sandler, David Spade, Norm MacDonald and Rob Schneider telling stories from their SNL days, along with Nick Swardson. All of these performers were widely responsible for the sketch comedy show's resurgence in the 90s, along with Conan O'Brien himself, who was a staff writer on the show before landing Late Night with Conan O'Brien in 1993. During last night's episode of Conan, Norm MacDonald blew the lid off what might possibly be one of SNL's biggest secrets.

Norm MacDonald joined the show in 1993, right when Conan O'Brien got the Late Night gig. Adam Sandler spoke about how excited everyone was for Conan, and that they all got together and watched the show with Chris Farley, whom Norm MacDonald had never met at this time. We have a clip from last night's episode, courtesy of the Team Coco YouTube, where Norm MacDonald reveals how Chris Farley shared one of SNL's biggest secrets with him, on the first night they met.

"He took me back, he said, 'I've got to tell you a secret about SNL.' He secreted me into this room and he locked it and made sure it wasn't bugged. He said, 'I got a secret to tell you.' I was very honored to have this. And then his secret was - he said, 'This doesn't go past these walls. Pat is a woman!'"

The "It's Pat" sketch, performed by Julia Sweeney, was among the most popular sketches at the time. The sketches always revolved around the sexual orientation of the androgynous Pat, with supporting characters trying to decide whether Pat is a man or a woman. The character even made the transition to the big screen with the 1994 movie It's Pat, but it was an utter box office failure, earning just over $60,000 during its brief theatrical run.

All of the actors who appeared on Conan last night frequently work with each other, with David Spade and Adam Sandler recently teaming up for the Netflix movie The Do Over. All five of these comedic actors also starred in the Netflix Western-comedy The Ridiculous 6, which debuted last December. Take a look at the clip from last night's Conan, where this huge Saturday Night Live secret was finally revealed.
