As a former cast member, Tracy Morgan earned acclaim for his seven seasons on SNL and was Emmy nominated for his role on the award-winning comedy series 30 Rock. The hosting gig will also mark Tracy Morgan's return to television after a horrific car accident last summer that claimed the life of comedian Jimmy Mack, and put Tracy Morgan in critical condition.

The car crash was caused by a Wal-Mart semi truck driver who crashed into the limo Tracy Morgan was riding in, while he was going approximately 20 miles per hour over the posted speed limit on the New Jersey Turnpike. The National Transportation and Safety Board's investigation revealed that the truck driver, Kevin Roper, had been awake for 28 consecutive hours and his sleep deprivation was determined to be the cause of the accident. Tracy Morgan was in a coma for two weeks following the accident, also suffering head trauma, a broken leg and broken ribs.

Musical guests for these episodes will be announced at a later date. Saturday Night Live is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels. For more information on Saturday Night Live" visit and follow us on Twitter at @NBCSNL.
