In just a few weeks, Sony Pictures' R-rated Sausage Party will hit theaters, but writer/producer/voice actor Seth Rogen brought this outrageous comedy to Comic-Con last night for an early screening, and to release a new red band trailer. Before the screening, Seth Rogen introduced the film to the audience, where he teased that a sequel is already in the works. Of course, nothing has been confirmed by the studio quite yet, but it seems that Seth Rogen and his collaborators are already working on ideas for Sausage Party 2.

The closest Seth Rogen has ever come to making a traditional sequel was in his 2013 comedy This Is the End. In that movie, the actor played himself and, with the help of James Franco and the rest of their friends, they made a sequel to their 2008 stoner comedy Pineapple Express, while they were trapped inside after the rapture hit Los Angeles. Still, during his introduction to Sausage Party last night, it seems he is more than willing to make a sequel. Here's what he had to say below, according to Variety.

"It's the first time we've ended a movie with the intention of making another one. We have an idea of where we'd like it to go and we'd love to just make talking sausage movies for the rest of our lives. Who wouldn't?"

Sausage Party, the first R-rated CG animated movie, is about one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store. The film features the vocal talents of a who's who of today's comedy stars - Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton and Salma Hayek. Seth Rogen not only lends his voice to Frank in Sausage Party, and he also co-wrote the script with his longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg along with Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir.

It isn't known if Seth Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg are already working on a script for Sausage Party 2, or if the rest of this star-studded voice cast will return to reprise their roles. Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon directed this animated comedy, and it isn't known if they will be willing to return as well. It has already been a big year for R-rated movies, with Deadpool shattering records left and right, and if Sausage Party can open big on August 12, we may be hearing something official about a sequel very soon.
