Considering that this is the third time that Johansson and Thomas appear together on-screen, portraying a mother-daughter relationship every time, the expectations for North Star are rather high. With these two actresses on board, who certainly make an exceptional team, and the wonderful rest of the cast, the movie is on the right path toward success. Currently, no nationwide release date has been set, and the film might be delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA Strike, which will prevent the stars from promoting it, but fans are certainly excited to see it.

Transformers: One - September 13, 2024

Scarlett Johansson is no stranger to voice acting as he has contributed her vocals to films like The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, Sing, and Her. Johannson has joined the cast of the upcoming animated film Transformers: One. The film will show the origin of the conflict between Optimus Prime and Megatron and how the war on Cybertron began. Johannson is set to voice Elita-One, a notable member of the Autobots.

It is unclear if the film will stand apart from the live-action film continuity or be part of it, but Scarlett Johansson joining the cast is an exciting development for the franchise. It also is likely fun for her, getting to voice a role in a major action film but not having to do all the stunt work that Black Widow required.

Bride — Release Date TBD

She lives! Johansson is set to star and produce the film, Bride. The film takes from The Bride of Frankenstein: a woman is crafted to be the picture-perfect wife. When her creator is left unsatisfied, she is forced to navigate a world that sees her as a monster. Other than the film being directed by Sebastián Lelio, there is not much else we know about the joint Apple and A24 production. The last word on the production came during 2020, so it us unclear if the project is still going on.

United Artists Releasing

What is Project Artemis about? Not sure yet, but there is the element of space involved, so if that is something that appeals to you, stay up to date with this one. Evans and Johansson were supposed to be teaming up once again in this project. However, Channing Tatum has been entered as Evans's replacement in the film. Fans of Marvel would have probably loved to see the two superheroes reunite on-screen, especially considering that one of their adaptations, Little Shop of Horrors, was shelved.

However, the cast is still promising because the Hollywood legend Woody Harrelson is joining Johansson and Tatum for Project Artemis. Apart from that, it is safe to say that Johansson has the ability to elevate any film with her mere presence, and the anticipation is almost boiling over.

That's evidently not the case anymore; however, it is safe to say we should expect some of our favorite characters and voices to return. Back in 2018, it was confirmed that the movie will be based on Justin Marks script, and also with regard to the cast, some exciting updates were made. Neel Seethi is returning as the main character, Mowgli, even though the actor is already an adult now. In addition to Seethi, we should count on Johansson making her return as Kaa, but we are still waiting on more updates on this highly anticipated movie.

Tower of Terror - Release Date TBD

Tower of Terror Movie Reboot Planned at Disney

While Scarlett Johansson sued Disney for their decision to release Black Widow on Disney+, since the two parties settled the case out of court, they are continuing their collaboration. Johnasson is set to produce and star in The Tower of Terror, a new movie based on the popular Disney attraction. The property was previously turned into a TV movie in the 2000s starring Kirsten Dunst, but this is a big-budget Hollywood adaptation that matches Disney's recent pattern of turning their theme park rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Jungle Cruise into feature films.

Marvel

Scarlet Johansson is returning to Marvel, although it is not in the way that fans initially wanted. Johansson is not returning to the role of Black Widow but instead is producing an upcoming project and is teaming up with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. It turns out she is not done with Marvel yet.

The project was first announced in 2021, but there have been no further updates. The name of the project is not even confirmed. Many would suspect it would be Thunderbolts, given that it involves many characters from Black Widow, but that is not the case. Fans will eagerly await to see what project Johansson is working on with Marvel Studios and hope she returns as a multiverse cameo in Avengers: Secret Wars.
