Around the World in 80 Days: Arnold Schwarzenegger and John Clesse are the latest stars set to make cameo appearances in the remake of Jules Verne's Around the World, according to Comingsoon.net. These latest additions bolster what already is looking like a strong supporting cast with the likes of Kathy Bates as Queen Victoria, Jim Broadbent, Johnny Knoxville, Sammo Hung and Belgian actress Cecile De France.

For those unfamiliar with the story it begins in a Victorian London and revolves around a bet made at a gentleman's club by Phileas Fogg, an eccentric adventurer and inventor, who claims that he can make it around the world in 80 days using a variety of transportation. British comedian-actor Steve Coogan of 24 Hour Party People and Parole Officer fame is playing the English gent. And, Jackie Chan features as a Chinese thief who masquerades as a French manservant, Passepartout, in order to avoid police in London. He joins Fogg as a travelling companion and uses his kung-fu prowess to protect him from the dangers they encounter. Expect much comedy from the fact Chan is undercover as a Chinese French man.

Production on the picture began mid March in Thailand, and moved to Studio Babelsberg in Germany this month for a three-month shoot. Frank Coraci director of The Wedding Singer and The Waterboy is in the director's chair for Around the World, which is scheduled for release at some point in 2004.
