The Sci Fi channel has resurrected the dormant action pilot Painkiller Jane, according to Production Weekly.

The series is a superhero actioner about a young Marine officer with self-healing powers and Sci Fi has ordered 22 one-hour episodes more than a year after the pilot was shot.

John Harrison (Dune), Don Opper and Greg Gold wrote Painkiller Jane, based on Joe Quesada and Jim Palmiotti's Event Comic, revolves around a young Marine officer exposed to a biochemical weapon that endows her with self-healing powers. Jane is forced to work covertly, fighting crime while running from military and medical officials who would exploit her gifts.

Casting for Painkiller Jane has not yet been finalized, Emmanuelle Vaugier (Smallville) appeared in the pilot in the title role.

Production will begin up in Vancouver early November and continue filming until July.
