It seems that the state of Michigan could be the new hot-spot for film productions, as a new story has indicated. The Detroit Free Press has run a story that indicates such films as Scream 4, Real Steel, A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas, Salvation Boulevard and Vamps will be filming in the state. Here are some excerpts from the article, indicating when and where these productions will take place.

Dimension Films confirms that it plans to shoot Scream 4 in Michigan. Shooting is expected to begin in mid-June and take place in and around Ann Arbor.

The biggest movie on the horizon is Real Steel, the futuristic robot-boxing drama from DreamWorks starring Hugh Jackman. The project has production offices in metro Detroit and is scheduled to begin filming in June. Steven Spielberg is one of the executive producers.

A new installment of the Harold & Kumar stoner-buddy comedies has been approved for the state's filmmaking incentives.

Salvation Boulevard, a comedy with former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan, is set to start shooting in Michigan in May.

Vamps, a vampire-themed romantic comedy with Alicia Silverstone and Sigourney Weaver, is expected to film here in June.
