Scream 6 is already a smashing success. The most recent installment of the horror saga created by Wes Craven continues what was achieved by the fifth part, which managed to revive the franchise and return to its bases, making fun of the genre and also of itself. In addition, Scream 6 is full of references to the previous films, a living homage to each installment, and there are many more than we imagine.

The initial sequence of the movie includes one of the great exponents of the world of horror, Samara Weaving, who has a brief participation that hides a deeper meaning for the entire saga that goes back to the very beginning. This was revealed by the costume designer Avery Plewes, who worked with the actress in another film (via Gizmodo)

"Oh, at the beginning of the movie? It's actually more of a yellowy-green. Yeah, it might look [white] on camera, but no, it was actually kind of a hybrid nod to Tatum [from the original Scream]. It's a very similar color to her turtleneck top, and then also kind of a nod to Samara's yellow Converse from Ready or Not."

Tatum Riley, played by Rose McGowan, is the best friend of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and sister of Police Assistant Dewey Riley, dying towards the end of the film at the hands of Ghostface.

Ready or Not was the project where Plewes coincided with Weaving, where the actress plays a woman who, on her wedding night, receives an invitation from her husband's rich and eccentric family to participate in an ancestral tradition that has become a lethal game of survival.

After the successful release of Scream 5, it took Paramount Pictures only 14 months to release the sequel, which was even better than its predecessor. This has fans of the saga speculating about a seventh part, which seems to be a reality even though there is no confirmation.

On the film's red carpet, directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett were hopeful about the future of the franchise, regardless of whether they're part of it or not:

"We want to be watching Scream movies, whether we're involved or not, for the rest of our lives."

Scream 6 follows the latest Woodsboro murders survivors now living in New York. Some are trying to move along from the tragedy, and some are having difficulty overcoming the past. But any chance of a new life is suddenly put on hold when a new Ghostafe appears at the Big Apple, ready to keep the legend alive and sick for revenge.

Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown return as the new main cast, along with franchise veterans Courteney Cox and Hayden Panettiere. Joining them are Delmot Mulroney, Liana Liberato, Jack Champion, and Josh Segarra as newcomers.
