Six days and counting until Scream hits the screens, and the legacy cast is opening up about returning to the scene of the multiple crimes 25 years later. Woodsboro, CA is, once again, being terrorized by Ghostface, and only the experts have the particular set of skills required to take the villain down. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette are being called into action!

The cast has described the new installment in a variety of ways, including a sharp script, nostalgic yet fresh, not a reboot but an entirely new franchise. What they all agree on is that it's scary! With the R rating for strong bloody violence, among other things, be prepared to watch between your splayed fingers. "Well, I could tell you that [directors] Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett did an incredible job," David Arquette recently told Variety about the film while avoiding giving out any specific spoilers. He added, "And the writers as well. It's scary and it's really funny. They took the world and expanded on it, and it's got this incredible new cast. That really reminded me of us when we were younger — the way they all got along. And it's great to see that Woodsboro is more diverse, a reflection of the world we live in."

The official synopsis for Scream reads: "Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town's deadly past. Neve Campbell ('Sidney Prescott'), Courteney Cox ('Gale Weathers') and David Arquette ('Dewey Riley') return to their iconic roles in Scream alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar." The film is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and was penned by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.

Scream, No Matter How Old it Might Make You Feel, Is Officially a Classic

25 years seals the deal. The original film also set a new standard and model in (25-YEAR-OLD SPOILER ALERT!) slaughtering Drew Barrymore, who could be argued as the biggest name on the cast roster, in the first five minutes of the film. She was on the poster for Pete's sake! Clearly, we were not dealing with a Nancy hero ala Nightmare on Elm Street. The horror rules were broken, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. The film came out swinging ... err stabbing.

With the final Scream poster released, they narrowed down the potential the killer for us with the especially helpful clue, "The killer is on this poster." From the early reactions to the film, all things point to us being highly entertained, laughing, reminiscing, and scared until the very end. But they did give us a clue to work with, just the entire cast and the person behind the mask to choose from. Who do you want it to be?
