Scream VI directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who are collectively known as Radio Silence, hope to return to the slasher franchise with Scream 7. Speaking with Deadline, the filmmaking duo not only want to helm a further outing, they want to be watching Scream movies for many years to come.

"We hope," Bettinelli-Olpin said. "We want to be watching Scream movies whether we're involved or not for the rest of our lives."

"We're so happy it's back," Gillett added, revealing once again how the pair are just big fans of the franchise and feel lucky to be bringing their ideas for Ghostface to life.

While Scream 7 has not yet been given the green light, based on the success of both 2022’s Scream and the early response to Scream VI, it can only be a matter of time. Scream VI continues with the survivors of the latest Ghostface killings from Scream, sisters Samantha and Tara Carpenter and twins Chad and Mindy Meeks, as they leave Woodsboro behind and starting a new chapter of their lives in New York City only to again be plagued by a streak of murders by a new Ghostface killer.

Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, Scream VI stars Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin, Jenna Ortega as Tara Carpenter, Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed, and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.
