According to http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/06/movies/06jackson.html?_r=2The New York Times, director Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings, King Kong, The Lovely Bones) will be attending his first Comic-con this year in support of the sci-fi thriller, District 9, which he produced.

"I'm thrilled that I finally have the opportunity," Mr. Jackson said in an e-mail message. "Neill is a tremendously talented young director, and he's made an extraordinary film, so it was important to me to come to San Diego to spread the word." He added that attendees will be in for "quite a ride," but did not elaborate.

Directed by Neill Blomkamp, and set for release on August 14th, District 9 depicts a fictional world where extraterrestrials have become refugees in South Africa.

opDo you think fans will be questioning him about the upcoming Guillermo del Toro-directed Hobbitfilms he's producing? I'd say so. Hopefully we get some juicy bits from this year's convention./op
