Warner Bros. is set to debut the new Interstellar trailer in IMAX theaters next week with the release of Godzilla. The Washington Post, who confirmed this, have also released a brief description of what we'll be seeing in this latest tease of the mysterious Christopher Nolan directed sci-fi epic starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine.
"Matthew McConaughey [is] driving his truck through corn fields while a lush orchestral score swelled in the background. Later, the fields have caught fire, an ominous dust cloud can be seen looming over a baseball game, and McConaughey (playing a character named Cooper) is reassuring his daughter that he loved her - right before being shot into space in order to save the world."
This second Interstellar trailer, which sounds like another teaser, still doesn't give away any plot details. Though, we do know that the story deals with real world science and the idea of black holes. It premiered this past Monday at the Smithsonian's Air & Space Museum's Lockheed Martin IMAX Theater to a group of school kids and tourists.
"Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here." Reads the official tagline, which hints that Cooper may be on the verge of breaking through the time-space continuum.
The Lockheed Martin IMAX Theater will be the only theater showing the trailer until it debuts everyway May 16. The film was shot on 70 mm, and will be presented with all IMAX movies currently playing at the Air & Space Museum.
