Showtime has picked up the popular British comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl for a run on its pay network. According to Variety, the cable channel has picked up twenty half-hour episodes.

Showtime's Bob Greenblatt stated, "It has a great sensibility to it. It's more emotional than you think it's going to be. It's sexy and funny, but there's other stuff going on." The show follows the adventures of Hannah, a legal secretary by day and a call girl by night.

The first eight episodes will air this summer. The second season begins filming next year.
