Following the recent release of Apple TV+'s second season of See, filming on the third season has now wrapped, and it sounds like Jason Momoa will be, well, seen a lot less when the post-apocalyptic drama returns. Shot back-to-back with the second season, showrunner Jonathan Tropper has confirmed that filming on the third season in Toronto, Canada is now complete, with the third outing expected to be released in Spring or early summer next year.

"Wrapping a season of production is always emotional - like moving out of a home full of family and memories," Tropper said in a caption alongside a behind-the-scenes image. "Wrapping two back to back seasons even more so. I took the first picture here what feels like a lifetime ago- Feb 4, 2020, the very first day of shooting season 2 of See - all of us going about our day, business-as-usual, no masks, no tests, with no inkling of the brewing storm. The second picture was on set last week, Oct 27, 2021, one of the very last shooting days of Season 3, where we were actually and metaphorically blowing things to smithereens."

He continued, praising the cast and crew: "Today we shot our last shot- a simple blue screen insert of this beautiful baby. In between, the world changed and our lives changed with it, but we somehow still managed to shoot two seasons (16 episodes) of this gigantic show. In the end, even with all the new protocols and restrictions, the work is still the work, and for that we are all eternally grateful. The journey, as always, is really about the people you come to know and love along the way. This was a smart, funny, compassionate, weatherproof crew and cast who did their jobs with pride and good humor that made our set a consistently warm and happy place during a difficult time. Sending my love and gratitude to my entire #See family."

In news that is sure to come as a disappointment to fans of the series, Jason Momoa is likely to have a much more limited appearance in the third season of See, with the Aquaman star having wrapped filming his scene back in July. At present, See has not been renewed for a fourth season, and judging by the tone of Tropper's caption and a lack of Momoa, many are wondering whether season 3 will be the show's last.

Beginning in the early twenty-first century, See introduces audiences to a world that has been ravaged by a virus which wiped out all but two million humans. Those surviving having lost the sense of sight, with the series picking up centuries later, where society has found new ways to interact, build, hunt, and survive without vision, with the series led by Jason Momoa as Baba Voss, a fearless warrior and the leader of the Alkenny Tribe. The recent second season sees Momoa go up against fellow Hollywood behemoth Dave Bautista as Edo Voss, his vengeful younger brother and the Commander General of the Trivantian army, the rival kingdom of Payan.
