Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are reuniting with their 50/50 director Jonathan Levine for an untitled holiday comedy project.

The story centers on three childhood friends who reunite in New York City and resurrect their annual tradition of going out on Christmas Eve. Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play two of the best friends, with the third lead role still yet to be cast.

The project was shopped around as a package to several studios over the weekend, with Sony Pictures beating out Paramount and Universal on Monday afternoon. Jonathan Levine is directing from his own original script, with Point Grey Pictures' Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver producing. 50/50 producers Joseph Drake and Nathan Kahane will serve as executive producers, alongside Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir.

Sony has put the project on the fast track, with production scheduled to start this summer. The studio has previously collaborated with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's Point Grey Pictures on last year's comedy This Is the End and their upcoming movies The Interview and Sausage Party.
