As the subject of internet memes in their dozens, jokes about the youthful appearance of Paul Rudd is something that will never age, literally. In a recent interview, Rudd’s buddy Seth Rogen has been jibing about his frequent co-star’s ability to seemingly defy his 52 years and retain the looks of someone decades younger. Rogen is currently appearing with Sebastian Stan and Lily James in Pam & Tommy, and has a hand in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated movie, and during a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the comedy star admitted that he is “alarmed and upset” by his friend’s ability to not age.

Rudd has been a fixture in Hollywood since the 1990s, having had a prolific comedy career with roles in the hit sitcom Friends, and movies such as Knocked Up, Anchorman and its sequel, and Role Models, along with his superhero role as Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many of those appearances have included some role by Rogen, and their most recent collaboration was on a Lay's ad for this year’s Super Bowl. Discussing how he feels like he now looks older than Rudd, despite being the younger of the two. Rogen said:

“It was a little alarming in some ways, honestly, because when I started working with Paul Rudd, he was older than I was...And now, I somehow passed him! You would assume I was his uncle between the two of us. You would assume I was watching him…I showed up on set and I was like, 'Damn, what happened? How did I pass you? Did they freeze you?' It was really upsetting in a lot of ways.”

Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen Love Working Together and Their Lay's Super Bowl Commercial Was No Exception.

Paul Rudd Seth Rogen Lays Super Bowl Ad

Over the years, Rogen and Rudd have brought some big comedies to the big screen, but their most recent collaboration on the Super Bowl ad for Lay’s just became another opportunity for the friends to have a lot of fun doing what they love. Speaking to People, the pair recently discussed how working together again was “a blast” and something they jumped at the chance to do with it being a while since they have been able to collaborate on anything.

"We always have fun together," Rudd said. "Seth and I have worked together a bunch, and I will say, more than maybe any single person I've ever met, Seth is the most unaffected — has not changed in anyway. I mean, he's still the same dude, and working with him is a blast because there really is this kind of freedom. I'd say that was a big part of the fun of doing this."

"It was pleasure, the whole thing was a pleasure," Rogen went on to say. "It had been a really long time since we've really done anything together. So when we were approached by Lay's to see if we wanted to do an ad for the Super Bowl, and it had a very loose concept of kind of reminiscing over memories past, we kind of jumped at the chance. It was fun."

Seth Rogen’s role in Pam & Tommy can be seen on Hulu now, while Paul Rudd’s turn in Ghostbusters: Afterlife has recently come home on Blu-ray and DVD, and he will be seen next year in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
