Sex and the City, the HBO show based on Candace Bushnell’s book of the same name, was well known for its iconic fashion through its six-season run. The show followed the lives of four very fashionable New York women: Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) a neurotic newspaper columnist for the New York Star; Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) a genteel art dealer; Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) a cynical lawyer; and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattral) a public relations aficionado. The four women all held a deep and lasting friendship, and despite their careers, life goals, setbacks, relationships etc, remained inseparable throughout the series. The show also spawned a short-lived prequel on the CW titled The Carrie Diaries, two movies, and a reboot And Just Like That...

Carrie Bradshaw, the show’s main protagonist, had a taste for designer fashion, much like her off screen counter part and the show's executive producer Sarah Jessica Parker. Costume designer Patricia Field, who also did costume design for The Devil Wears Prada, won several designers guild awards for her work on Sex and The City. Moreover, the show featured luxury designers such as Versace, Gucci, Fendi, Channel, and Dior to name just a few. Of course, the show also helped make shoe designer Manolo Blahnik a household name. The Series was filled with iconic fashion every episode. Here are a handful of iconic fashion moments from Sex and The City, ranked.
