Man on Wire director James Marsh has lined up a cast for Shadow Dancer with Clive Owen, Andrea Riseborough, Aidan Gillen, and Gillian Anderson attached to star.

The drama will be set in 1990s Northern Ireland and delve into the longtime conflict of that area. Andrea Riseborough will play the female lead as a former IRA assassin who becomes an informer for the British intelligence agency MI5. Tom Bradby is adapting the script from his own novel. It isn't clear what roles Clive Owen, Aidan Gillen, and Gillian Anderson will have. Guy Pearce and Rebecca Hall were previously attached to the project. Here's what James Marsh had to say about the project, which he likened to his genre project Red Riding: 1980.

"It's much more like Red Riding, it's a genre film, it's a thriller. It's very exciting to be doing something like that now, to have that kind of canvas to fill."

Shadow Dancer will begin production this May in Dublin, although it will likely have a different title, according to James Marsh.

"It's sort of between titles right now. I don't think it's quite the right title. It sounds a bit like Billy Elliot or something like that."
