Unstoppable writer Mark Bomback will pen the true-life adventure Shadow Divers for Fox 2000 with Scott Free producing, according to Variety.

The film is based on Robert Kurson's historical deep sea adventure "Shadow Divers: The True Adventure of Two Americans Who Discovered Hitler's Lost Sub."

The story centers on the divers who in 1991 discovered a wrecked German U boat sunk alarmingly close to the New Jersey shoreline. The two men dove to depths approaching 230 feet -- the limits of human endurance -- to solve the mystery of how it wound up there. Both suffered great losses in the course of solving the mystery: a ruined marriage and the loss of friends' lives on the wreck.
