During an interview on the set of his upcoming thriller Eagle Eye, Shai LaBeouf was of course approached about his work on a couple of highly anticipated franchise sequels that he is participating in. First, he was asked about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

"Indiana Jones? The scope of it is insane. Indy is kind of campy. There is a humor to all of the action." Did he do a lot of physically demanding work in Indy? "Yeah." He then went on to compare it to the work he is currently doing in Eagle Eye. He says the action in Eagle Eye is "not slip on a banana peel." So, is he saying that Indiana Jones is sort of goofy in an Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace type way? Certainly sounds like it.

Asked if he would be headlining the Indy franchise in the near future, the actor gave us his trademark eyebrow lift, as if he were denying the truth as he has done in the past regarding this certain franchise. He stated, "Am I into it? Of course. Yeah. Who wouldn't be? I don't think that's reality though. But it's a fun rumor."

What is the actor most excited to see in the film? Shai states, "I just want to see the movie. I'm just as anxious as you guys are. I haven't seen anything yet. Its not like it's Shia's viewing time. Spielberg is being very secretive. He's locked in a room. And then Lucas gets his cut."

Is there any news on the Transformers 2? LaBeouf says, "We're in the middle of a strike. You can't really make a movie without a script. So, that's where that is."

Look for Eagle Eye to hit the screen later this year on August 8th. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull opens on May 22nd, 2008.
